Carpeting the Pike – Manoukian Brothers Rugs
Bijar, Kazakh, Hamadan, Kilim… these are only a few types of classic, beautiful, and authentically handwoven carpets you can find at Manoukian Brothers Oriental Rugs, newly located at 2330 Columbia Pike. This family-owned business, which arrived on the Pike in September 2018, has been a trusted source for high-quality Oriental rugs in the Washington, DC area for 96 years, establishing its strongly enduring reputation on fair pricing, friendly personalized and hassle-free service, and countless word-of-mouth recommendations.
The Manoukians’ story began when four brothers established the business in 1922, opening shops and cleaning facilities in DC locations such as Connecticut Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue and Columbia Road. One of these brothers, Moses, had a son, Paul, who made his family home in Arlington fifty years ago (All the Manoukian grandchildren attended Arlington Public Schools!). Today two generations of Manoukians work at the shop. Over the years, the Manoukian Family has been honored and delighted to help to carpet the floors, and beautify the homes and offices of greater Washington, from embassies on Massachusetts Avenue to studio apartments in Adams Morgan, along the way getting to know and stay close to so many of its wonderful people.
We are now celebrating Paul Manoukian’s lifelong devotion to the family business with a Retirement Sale, where all rugs in the Manoukian Brothers Rug Collection are 25% off our already attractive prices.
Paul, his wife Dona, their son Mikael and daughter Marne consider conducting business on Columbia Pike a real pleasure. The Manoukians and their customers are enjoying the community of businesses on the Pike. They have relished frequenting many neighborhood businesses from Rappahannock Coffee, to Bob & Edith’s, Celtic House, the Burrito Brothers Trolley, Arlington Animal Hospital, for many years and are now taking advantage of their closer proximity to frequent them even more!
